FIRSTCRACK Coffee Roasters is the house brand of the small yet highly discerning PAKOLAT coffee roastery located on Raumerstraße in Berlin. PAKOLAT processes high-quality single-origin coffees right on the premises—using a roasting machine that is over 100 years old and was meticulously restored from the ground up through patient, painstaking craftsmanship. FIRSTCRACK holds itself and its coffee to the highest standards. This commitment to excellence was intended to be reflected in the new packaging, designed by Sebastian Klammer Grafikdesign Berlin. The result is elegant and self-assured, yet subtle and characterized by a certain sense of understatement. The hand-roasted coffees from FIRSTCRACK Coffee Roasters Berlin are sourced from select coffee plantations around the globe. In addition to finely crafted blends, FIRSTCRACK primarily offers single-origin coffees—varieties sourced entirely from a single plantation. These coffees, hailing from diverse regions of origin, are distinguished by a wide array of distinct flavor profiles. To help customers navigate their choices and find their favorite coffee, the otherwise matte-black coffee bags have been fitted with colored labels that subtly allude to the respective region of origin. Small tags attached to the bags provide more detailed information about the coffee itself—including its place of origin and unique characteristics.
